Is your job the most interesting thing about you?

Yesterday I read a tweet that said “Your job shouldn’t be the most interesting thing about you” and I decided that I wanted to touch on this topic. Because I am aware that many gentlemen who are part of this magical world of no strings attached rendezvous, or the ones of you who are considering dipping your toes in (you absolutely should, it’s great fun over here!), you all share a common denominator which is you have very demanding jobs. To the point that your job often tends to become your whole life, or even, your whole identity.

And if you’ve met me before you’ll know that I’m quite blunt, very honest, definitely a realist, so I’m not trying to sugarcoat things or being delusional: I’m aware that it is thanks to your job that you are able to enjoy quality time with me (which I’m aware, doesn’t come cheap, but hey, great things never do!)

So, please, do keep your job! :D

The essence of what I’m trying to say (and forgive me if I’m going around in circles, English is not my first language!) is that us humans are incredible and powerful forces, each of us in our very own unique ways. And, going back to that tweet I mentioned earlier, I personally think that it’s quite sad/wrong when the most interesting thing about someone is their job. Or when a job becomes someone’s whole identity. However, it happens. You might feel it is happening to you, but it’s not only you. It’s happening to so many. Too many.

So, I’m saying this from a place of understanding and compassion and throwing no shade, but...if you feel slightly attacked by that tweet I mentioned earlier, if you feel that your job is the most interesting thing about you...

Then this monologue of mine is a sign to change your life for the better!

Book that trip!

Let's explore those countries you've been wanting to see!

Let's try that restaurant!

Let's create memories, have stories to tell, discover cultures and traditions from far away lands!

This is your time to become the most interesting person in the room.

And to live your life to the fullest, on your terms, doing the things you love.

I’m 100% sure that there’s more to you than your job, regardless of how great, prestigious and well remunerated it might be.

The world is our oyster, lover.
